Come take a look at our Facebook Page
We meet at The Bank Corner in Alsager Every
Friday am from 9.45-11.45 or
Tuesday pm from 19:00 - 21:00
We meet in a large spacious public house, so even if you don't want to knit/crochet or craft, your still welcome to come along and have a natter, enjoy a drink and some tasty food. You don't have to be a seasoned pro, everybody is welcome, all you need is some wool, needles or crochet hook and the willingness to come along and have a go! We all enjoy a good natter, whilst enjoying something to eat or drink, so its a very relaxed friendly environment. We are a mixed ability group and have plenty of beginners, we are happy to spend time teaching the basics of knitting and crochet one to one, but also share hints and tips along with dozens of patterns as a group. We all work on our own projects and have different ideas about what we hope to achieve, so welcome new people into the group because along with them come new ideas, and topics for discussion.
Knitting has recently had a huge revival and is no longer considered to be the pastime of the elderly With the current economic downturn people are reverting to the old make do and mend mentality and both young and old are enjoying the revival of longstanding traditions. As knitting is a inexpensive hobby to start, many people are happy to purchase the basics and have a go. Really all you need to make a start is to get some needles (knitting) a hook (crochet) and wool.
